What is an Asteroid?

Overview of the differences between asteroids and planets, where in the solar system asteroids are found, and the three major varieties. Contains images from the recent DART mission, in which a probe was deliberately crashed into the asteroid Dimorphos to try and change its orbit. The mission was a spectacular success!
