I’ve been a metalhead my whole life. Other music hasn’t really been my thing no matter how much I’ve tried. But this is such a masterpiece of a song, I literally CANNOT stop listening to it. It’s opened my eyes to a whole new genre of music that I am now so in love with. Thank you Kalandra!

Life goes back to sleep, all has to wait
All lies frozen in her hushed embrace
Wintertime whispers softly at my door
Within myself the old traditions flow
From somewhere ancient
I do recall a solemn state where
Everyone would join in songs of solace

I sing for me while lighting candles
I sing because my ancestors are cold
To chance upon long-forgotten things
If through the veil, someone's listening
I sing because this time of year has ghosts

I could sleep until her frost is spent
Dwell until the dawn of spring ascends
Winter hallows echo from long ago
Within myself the old traditions flow
From somewhere ancient
I do recall a solemn state where
Everyone would join in songs of solace

I sing for you while lighting candles
I sing because your presence gives me hope
I'm giving in to festivities
If through the veil, someone's listening
I sing because this time of year has ghosts

I sing for all who still light candles, ooh
I sing for those who have no voice or home
A hearth of songs that could warm us all
If through the veil, someone hears my call
I sing because this time of year has ghosts

To Kalandra, I’ve noticed that you guys don’t have a bassist, I’d Love to be your bassist. To be a part of the Kalandra Experience would be a dream come true. Your music has had such a Profound impact on my own writing and journey. I am Proud to be a fan and supporter. Much love-S. Hawkins.

Kalandra is making the world a better and happier place🌻

I lost my mom a year and a half ago. I don’t think I’d have the sanity I do today if it wasn’t for this band. Thank you guys so much for writing such beautiful and amazing music🌿 -Griff

That second verse and the idea of a ghost not being a source of pain, remorse, or bitter endings -- a comforting presence instead. Man, that hit me so fucking hard. It instantly made this one of my favorite, most intimately relatable songs in recent memory.

I hear this song on repeat while I clean my room for the first time in days. I had a tough time after a family trip, dealing with therapy and panic attacks. Right now, I'm taking time to find myself again, and listening to this song helps a lot! It’s so good to know you’re all in this world.

It was very emotional to see you live in Hamburg, and I’m so thankful you were in Germany, especially for taking the time and energy to go on tour.

I'm probably the only Moroccan listening to this group, but Thank yoy kalandra, I discovered your music 5 years ago, I was 15 years old, struggling with a lot of things but your music was always there to calm down the chaos I felt, now today I'm still having struggles but I Know how to face them, how to face my life and myself, and again, your music is there with me ... This song is like a warm hug to me, something I needed and was looking for, a hope for me ... And one day I will come to Norway so that I can assist one of your concerts it's one of my goals, until that time, I will work on myself to realize all the hopes and dreams I have ❤

At first, I did not dare to click on the video when I received the notification, the reason being the immeasurable awe I knew I would experience. But then I gathered some courage and clicked. Oh my, indeed it was worth daring to open the link. Already waiting to see you all on stage for a third time.

I've been listening since 2017. My favorite genre is hip hop and I'm based in the US, so it's an unusual pick for me for sure, but I just love the music so much! The latest album is great, but these more ethereal songs are what really grab me: Ghosts, Borders, With You, It Gets Easier, What do you know about love, and of course Helvegen. These batch of songs are ingrained in my memory from all the replays and they all have a similar feel to them😎
I would never pigeonhole a band into a particular style because I know that can get boring, but throwing in songs like these every now and then would be very appreciated 😀

For decades my favourite song for wintertime was "Winter" by Tori Amos, that changed a couple of hours ago.
Amazingly beautiful song, thank you so much for this!❄♥❄

Spooky I sent this to my daughter, almost same time she was sending to me. A evocative song stirring memories of time past. Thank you

When I clicked on the video I was not prepared to be consoled for a sorrow I didn't know I had. How do you guys keep doing that?!

Ghosts really crystallized for me all of the things I love about Kalandra's music. The way the melodies dance through beautifully arranged accompaniment, woven through with striking vocal harmonies. The harmonies are so tight on some songs they sound like a vocoder was used (cool if that was the case). What's more, the lyrics are always beautifully constructed, poetic, with shades of meaning revealing themselves after repeat listening. This is particularly the case with Ghosts, with its almost pagan spirituality, and subtle changes in the choruses that tell a story throughout the song.

I almost feel like all of this should have been obvious to me, because these things permeate Kalandra's music all the way back to Sell Your Voice.

Ghosts, though... this song is on another level. It really should become part of the world's winter holiday canon. I truly hope it gets the recognition it deserves. Thank you so much for all you had to go through to finish it up while touring so that it could be released this winter!

I love that every single one of your songs is a spiritual experience. Never do I feel more connected to my faith and Mother Earth than while singing your songs. Thank you so much for creating them <3
