I think it would be helpful to mention that the copy of windows needs to be a insider build, a developer preview, . And not something that available in a normal retail build, when I did this and my file explorer did not change I was so confused, I'd imagine there are more like me as well.

Finally the dark themes will include in the file explorer and dialogue! During night time I always stress with my eyes not be able to have dark themes with the file explorer and everything else still bright white. Very easy on my eyes at night.

One question. is this possible, because now that we have dark themes in file explorer and dialogue and everything else, can those dark or black areas be able to convert into translucent or transparent areas... like convert into aero glass look?

yeah but this is grey not black. i want to have it the same black as the settings option menu. is that possible?

You need to download the October 1809 update for it to work. Most Win 10 users will still be on 1803 build. Apparently tech sites are now deeming the Oct update safe now (no more getting your pictures folder deleted)

I've been using the insider build just for the dark theme. I don't like it cause I'm pretty sure the insider build is causing some weird bugs on my computer.

If you are wondering why this doesn't work, it is because you must be a Windows Insider, fortunately it is easy to be one, you just signup and can then change your Windows build to be fast lane, which will have these "experimental" features. It is likely to be released very soon, from what I hear they are just perfecting it a little more (I am a Windows Insider but use the stable build of Windows)

Is there a way to have dark mode in settings and light mode in file explorer? For the last many many months I have had dark mode on, but it was never dark in file explorer. With the most recent update I guess it fixed this but I hate dark mode inside of file explorer. I mainly use dark mode in the first place to make my search bar black inside of white.

I have the option and I selected it but only a few windows become black, the file explorer stays black :(
