How To Turn On Network Discovery In Windows 10 [Tutorial]

How To turn on/turn off network discovery to share files, printers, etc..

Microsoft Windows allows administrators to manage Wi-Fi and other kinds of local network connections through the operating system. Knowing how to disable and enable connections in Windows helps greatly with network setup and troubleshooting.

For example, consider that Windows enables the Wi-Fi interfaces of Windows PCs by default. When a Wi-Fi connection suddenly stops functioning because of a technical glitch, Windows sometimes disables it automatically, but users can always do the same manually.

Disabling and re-enabling Wi-Fi connections resets the network-specific functionality without rebooting the computer. This can clear out certain kinds of network problems just like a full reboot would.

This tutorial will apply for computers, laptops, desktops,and tablets running the Windows 10 operating system (Home, Professional, Enterprise, Education) from all supported hardware manufactures, like Dell, HP, Acer, Asus, Toshiba, Lenovo, and Samsung.

I’m a bit confuse..so if I turn on the network discovery my computer is more at risk? Since I’ll be able to see other networks and they can see mines also. But if I turn off the network discovery my computer won’t be shared with anyone else’s?

I got a new PC with Windows 10 installed, and after 3 weeks of misery where nothing works I've just bought a copy on Windows 7 and installed it - much better in every way! Windows 10 is AWFUL!
