Dramatic video shows the moment a massive cargo ship crashed into the Francis Scott Key Bridge, causing a near-total collapse into the Baltimore harbor.

The crash appeared to be accidental, not intentional, officials said.

They said that some workers work in the middle of the night on the bridge, but what kind of worker are they talking about? Isn't usually when a ship this big leaves port there should be a tug boat to make sure the ship gets the right heading into deep water.

How come no asks why the powerlines immediately next to the bridge have actual large collision protection but the bridge doesn't?

The vessel was going at low speed, without power to accelerate its speed, which means that this was a low speed impact reducing the force of impact, which in turn leaves me, a guy with a brain with the final conclusion that that bridge was a fucked up bridge since a long time ago, a toy bridge designed by inept people who should have taken events like that into account. A bridge spanning a waterway with large heavy vessels passing in and out to and from port should have had stronger pillars and a more solid overall structure, a simple low speed bump caused a domino effect that brought the whole thing down.
