Drunk Elephant 🐘 Protini Moistuizer Dupes & Alternative Products

The Drunk Elephant Protini Polypeptide Cream is one of the most beloved products from Drunk Elephant. I must say that I alone have went through dozens of jars over the past few years since the Protini Cream was released. I have been working on an exhaustive Dupes list for the Protini for some time now. Since Shiseido recently bought Drunk Elephant for almost $1 Billion, I decided to finish my list ASAP so that you might be able to find a Dupe / Protini Alternative in the event that you might not be a fan of Shiseido.

Just because Shiseido purchased Drunk Elephant does not mean there will be any changes to Drunk Elephant. I am not sure exactly what this means for the brand, it could stay the same, they could make changes, or it is even possible that Shiseido will do great things for the brand. Either way, it is nice to have options!

I pair The Ordinary's Buffet with Cerave PM moisturizer. I find the Cerave texture to be so similar to Protini (plus it has ceramides!), the Buffet has all the peptides, and they are both super reasonably priced. Win-win-win!

The most noticeable difference between Acure and Protini is the absence of amino acids. I pair Acure with The Ordinary’s Amino Acids + B5. That gives me essentially what Protini has at a more affordable price.

The Inkey List came up with a Peptide Moisturizer and Hepta-peptide serum which are formulated similarly to DE Protini. It is cheaper too in the 20s range for pricing.

I’m so glad you talked about that PTR moisturizer!!! I had heard about it but passed because why would I pay more for a dupe?? I definitely didn’t realize it has twice more product and costs significantly less per ounce than the Protini
