I can't imagine SOAD without Serj. He really has a unique voice that just can't be replaced by anyone

I knew we would never get another System album after Serj and Daron went on to do solo projects. I did get to see the band 4 times on their last 2 big world tours, that was incredible.
In 2008 I also got to shows of Scars on Broadway and Serj Tankian. Scars on Broadway was pretty good, but Serj solo was bad...like fuck bad.

But the vocals are good together! The way they harmonize is amazing. I don’t know if it would be as good with another front man. I mean maybe they could find someone, but serj is a truly talented guy.

The fact they went so long to even decide on getting a new singer tells me they still respected him as their vocalist.

Never realized System of A Down was so wholesome, that's actually refreshing to see how respectful they are to each other

No way his voice can be replaced. That's what made SOAD so unique, in my opinion.

Call up Mike Patton. He's always down to join a new band.

John, Daron, and Shavo should just make a supergroup band with some experienced rock / metal vocalist

Unpopular opinion: I don’t want another System album. Their catalog is perfect, and anything where all hearts aren’t in it detracts from a great legacy. Better to finish early than stay too long.

The way we cling to all these 60 year olds says so much about new music.

Personally, I do not see a System of A Down album coming ever again, I don't see new music coming out ever again, I don't see them touring much at all ever again. The Band is too loyal to Serj, they'd never cut him out and they'd never move on without him. I hate to be that guy, but I was born in October of 2005, I have almost been waiting for new System of A Down since my birth. I am 18 turning 19 and a new record hasn't come since 2005. We got 2 new songs in 2020, but they don't feel really super important or strong as songs.

I feel like they've simply given up on making new music, making a new album or touring properly. The only thing I can see them actually doing to change is removing Serj, but I doubt they'd ever do that. They never would, he's too much of a "classic, " even though he sounds nothing like he did when they were writing at top shape in 2002.

But what does Corey Taylor think about this

Why must a tour happen? Let S.O.A.D. be a one of a kind, album after album. But concert rare. That makes them worth so much more. Especially with Serj’ POV.
