How to wire and setup Corsair RGB fans - tips for adding RGB fans to your case easily

Wiring Corsair fans can be a pain, but it's not necessarily as complex as you might think. In this video I'm going to show you how to connect Corsair fans and where to connect them, including how to connect them to the RGB nodes, the fan power on your motherboard or how to make life easier with a Commander Core XT.

All this is being done outside the case, so that you can see the logic a bit more easily and understand the wiring in a more straightforward way. Hopefully this will help if you're planning on building a Corsair PC or just want guidance on which wires go where and why.

In this video I'm using a mix of LL120, ML120, QL120 and more fans to demonstrate how to do this and why it's not as hard as you might think.

My recommended tips:
- Don't mix and match fans
- Try to keep fans on your radiator attached to the pump head if possible (with breakouts or controllers)
- Use system fan headers if you want to save money
- Watch my videos

This is brilliant yet again, so much thought and effort goes into your videos. I am about to build my first PC and this is exactly how I will be doing the fan setup. Well done and keep these videos

Corsair REALLY needs to come up with a way to daisy chain their fans together as Lian Li did.. My first build has 10 QL fans, definitely am overwhelmed with the amount of cables I’ve got to try and manage! Along with Lian Li Stimers, luckily I got a 011 XL case but it’s still hard, my last hurdle today is figuring out how I can connect the triple 8 pin Strimer cable through the bottom as there’s no room! Gonna have to move some things around to make it work

I did this to my new pc I built back in 2020 and I tell you that was the hardest part. Putting everything else together was easy. Also takes up so much space inside the case. My case Lian has an area that houses all the cables and its so packed its going to be super hard to replace my power supply eventually. I'm running 10 fans though.

Hey man thanks for making this video, super helpful and detailed. I'll be building my first pc with 6 LL120 fans in the Corsair 4000d Airflow and your videos have been awesome. Way more efficient and intuitive to watch this than going solely off the manuals and reddit threads.

I originally found you playing Cuisine Royale, and now I find you doing this, in a time where I'm building my first PC. I'll definitely be back.

I was having trouble with my Corsair iCUE 4000X RGB case fans.

I had plugged everything in and booted, they lit up to their default rainbow but then shut off and were undetectable by iCUE.

The solution was to unplug them, boot the PC to iCUE, then hot plug the SATA power connector, then hot plug the USB connector. iCUE then recognized everything.

Amazing video and your camera work is great. As well as your voice.

This is Michael. Thank you for taking the time to do this. It is very helpful. Corsair has also done an excellent job by putting together not only the best looking R GB fans, but the hubs and the software to run them, not to mention the great cases. I'm planning a 5000 T build Right now and your video is helpful for establishing how the other fans will work. I plan to use the newer Q L120s because they look better, And will substitute them for the AIO cooler fans as well.

I was freaking out because I thought the Sata connector was meant to be connected in the motherboard and I couldn't find it, thanks to your video I realized that it is meant to be connected to the PSU, thanks a lot for the detailed explanation!!

The biggest and soul issue at the stage is financial.
Has stated on another one of your videos I'm looking at the 7000d airflow and I want to light it up with 12 120 fans. I was curious about the USB headers as well as the fan headers and how to balance that out with that many fans. I may have to go over this video again but I think you pretty much covered all the bases.
Thank you, sir.
