I tell people that I enjoy playing with paper and stickers. I’m a postal worker soo I’m always in contact with paper and when I see mail that is from the sticker companies while sorting I always end up giggling like I’ve found a golden ticket. My husband and family are ok with me spending on it because they know it’s a form of keeping wife/mom happy. But the best benefit from planning was that I have been able to have things managed on time and not forgetting important dates. I’ve been doing this for about eight years and I am guilty of hoarding items and just this past year I’ve realized that life is too short to save all the things. 😁

Hobbies are hobbies! I think people are confused about planning as a hobby because you could just use a pen and a calendar, but you could also just have photo albums instead of a scrapbook lol. I found the planning community way back in 2010 through bullet journal videos, and then I fell into a rabbit hole! I used to be a Happy Planner diehard.

Thank you for sharing how people react to your planning. I’m a nurse and was shocked how my peers thought it was so dumb. The same people who waste money on their ( I think) useless hobbies. Which I said to them. I asked…What do you spend your money on…they laughed when they told me their silly money habits. I smiled and said see…we all have our thing…. :)

I love watching you plan. Not alot of people use the hobonichi cousin and plan like you do and Helen from coffeemonsterzco does. It's the same way I plan as well. I stumbled upon planning while looking up bullet journaling one day. I wasn't artist so bullet Journaling didn't work out for me but planning with stickers I could do. I never looked back. I've been loving it ever since. Also my birthday is in January too. Mine is the 15th tho.

I found planning at a Pinners Conference and the hobonichi a6. I had so much fling on in my head it was driving me crazy and my phone calendar didn’t do it for me.
I’ve always loved pens, paper and stickers and family never got it. There’s something about writing things down that is therapeutic.
I love that you put an ‘R’ for Thursdays, nobody I know understands why I do that.

My family and friends are supportive. They look at my spreads (when I ask). My husband purchased a CRICUT for us both and helps me use the design space to make stickers (for myself and our daughter). ❤️

My family doesn't get it either. I always loved pens and stationary. I also loved being organized, I always had a planner especially in college. I just had my daughter, and I wanted to document everything. I then started to read my bible more and I now just create books on love and inspiration for daughter to read. Scriptures and I write stories to her. So she can read them and understand how amazing she is and how God really loves her.

I had the same planner experience when I was a kid. I don’t remember how I found planner YouTube’s. I used to use Walmart planners and then upgraded to happy planners and then off my journey went 😂 I also have loved stationary for as long as I could remember. For a long time I was Lisa franks obsessed 😅

I think Mandy Lynn makes her main full box for the hobo cousin kits with the idea that it would be wide enough to cover the full black week box at the top of the sidebar. I know the full sidebar all the way to the edge of the page is the same size as regular EC columns (1.5 inches) so that's probably the thinking there.

My girlfriend thinks it’s cute and my family thinks it’s cute as well, kind of childish but they support. I found out about it via YouTube and haven’t stopped since. I had agendas in school so this is my creative grown up agenda.
