First time I’ve seen people dancing to post swing jazz. Of course Dexter can swing hard while playing his bebop lines. And if you can tap your feet to it, why not dance? Much appreciate seeing another Dex video surface. In all the bios of him they always reference his classic Blue Note and other studio albums. Classic as they are, I’ve always preferred his live albums where he has been able to stretch out on his solos, exploring idea after idea, never repeating himself or sounding boring. Thank you SteepleChase records! The legacy of his live albums and videos were well worth his stay in Europe all those years.

Totally cool. That's my reaction to Dexter always. I'm up to 130 Dexter Gordon albums and counting. Dig it.

Dexter's playing his ass off, kids are dancing and applause is slim to none.

Love Danes in 70s (must be boomers and hope they still are dancing on Jazz) who can dance on bebop with the slightest provocation! Awsome!

Denmark, 1971. Lars Aegerback, piano; Jens Jefsen, bass; Ole Streeberg, drums. [Please forgive me any misspelling of names!].

There’s good jazz today, but jazz from back then blows it away.

He seems to be a bit high, both in the way he speaks at the beginning, and also in the tuning if my ears don't deceive me

Oops! Anyway, remember seeing Dex at the Berlin Jazz Festival sometime in the 1960s.

Great footage, thankyou. Is it a selmer? High F# so possibly not a mark IV . his mouthpiece is really pulled out (lots of cork showing) and I think the blues are in Bb concert, from watching the pianist. The camera really gets up in their faces, that would be hard I think, but it really shows his embouchure.
