yikes, i do not see how this is fair. i am a small landlord, i do not raise rents regularly but i need the flexibilty to make the best decision regarding rents, repairs, etc to protect my tenants and asset. this will hinder me greatly, it is getting too hard to be a small landlord, and not worth it.

I received a 60 day rent renewal increase of 985.00 per month. My current rent is $2615.00 renewal offer is 3600.00 per month. Here in Howard County Maryland...outrageous and should be criminal

Well they got what they wanted. Now landlords are eventually going to get behind on bills too and in turn default on the loan which a mega corporation will scoop up and charge 3x what you're currently paying lol. Y'all don't really think long term nor the possibility of just simply moving if you're single.

Stupid talk “taking away market opportunities”. Investment will go elsewhere, fees will rise, market will move forward and wash out those who cant compete. Landlord property rights supersede a meager rent control program.

How is the cap working for you folks in Maryland a year later? I’m genuinely curious… A nearby Democrat-run county in my state is pushing a 3% cap there too.
