On the back of the pickup if the winch had a normal hook on it just hook it to the first D Ring seems simpler.

One HUGE issue is that Warn don’t sell a spare pin (threaded pin) so of you lose yours in the mud / water / sand or while driving you have an expensive boat anchor. I bought the epic sidewinder direct connect “hook” and called them to order a spare pinI was told they don’t make these units themselves and have no spares. It would be so easy to set up one extra part number to be able to sell the pin to a customer but Warn decided to not do so. I know that more than I have called them in person on this but apparently they have not acted in this. So I took the stupid thing off my winch, since I don’t want it to leave me stranded somewhere, and replaced it with something better and serviceable

Doesn’t fit most mounts and you can’t even link it with other sidewinders. Fail.

So, you still need large D rings since the clearance isn’t that great? Won’t attach to a tree saver?

I have to say, at first I was highly interested in this. I like the idea of not having additional shackles to setup, but I now see some points of possible failure. Losing a pin is a moot point as they're standard 7/8" and readily available. I suppose the biggest issue I see is side loading. Not all recoveries are going to be straight on, so I could see this posing an issue if not a straight line pull. I also never see these on Jeeps or trucks, despite how nice they look.

I'm super worried about how to prevent them from getting stolen.

Great for a straight line pull but what about the other 80% of the recoveries that are sidepull application because of terrain or situational issues. I would not use this product.

Ya, hooking up 2 D rings is so complicated! 😂. I’m thankful enough my regular D rings have never been stolen, these would be gone in a heartbeat if left in my Jeep.
Not saying they aren’t good or look great, just not dropping cash to look good when what I have that is cheap works great.

Hello Can you tell me what wheels and tires are on the red Jeep? I like that wheel but don’t know what it is

So why.... when working with rope... does the hook have a sharp metal pin clip.

Also for this price, why can't the hook rotate...

This is for the neon wheel light kids I've seen hundred's of tons lifted with Crosby shackles, never seen a sidewinder on an offshore drilling rig .

They are nice products, unfortunately you do not make smaller versions for atv and utv. So... back to Factor 55 :(

Seeing that guy feed that link into the hawes with his hands made my skin crawl. Way to lose a finger!

Just stick a good bow shackle at the end of your winch. Better and cheaper.

Why are the new warn vr winches made so cheap?

they don't fit 1/2 the mounts out there.

Not the kind of "rigging" I see most Jeep owners employ
