I can't tell you how much I appreciate your instruction on the use and maintenance of spray guns. As a guy who is hungry to learn this art, I am all ears and eyes. This is good fundamental information for guys like me that most professionals won't, or don't have the time to explain to the greenhorn like me. Thanks again.

Pete.. thank you so much for taking the time to make these videos. I'm no painter, I just want to work on my own small projects in my shop and I'm just getting started so this video helped me tremendously. Ignore the haters and keep doing what you do, people like me really appreciate it.

Pete, you have done an excellent job explaining who is the ideal candidate for watching this video. That particular comment was quite valuable, as it fit my situation perfectly. 1st time painter, brand new gun, old boat & new project!
The clock in the background and cleaning your gun was perfect.
I learned a lot, wish me luck.

Thanks Pete this video answered all of my questions - seven years old and still excellent and relevant. It’s well on its way to 1 million views. I can’t tell how much help this has been - all the best mate from a wet and windy UK.

Just a friendly guy imparting his knowledge for the greater good of us novice painters. Be nice folks.

Great informational video! Tons of information without all the extra bs talking that doesn't relate to what the video is about. Again, Great Video and thanks for the information. Keep it up.

Hi Pete, I live in England and have been painting cars and lorry's since the late seventies. I have used cellulose, acrylic, synthetic enamel and lately two pack or 2K. I have done a few re-paints in 2K but straight colours only. I have a classic Ford Corsair, which was based on the American Thunderbird but it is metallic blue. I had asked several people how to do a base and clear coat but every answer was different. So, I turned to YouTube and your channel came up. I found this video very informative and the use of the clock inspired me to get the car painted. I put a clock on the wall, like you showed. I wet flatted the boot lid (trunk lid) with 800 and wiped it over with panel cleaner then tack ragged it off. I used my smaller DeVilbiss touch-up gun and put the base coat on thinly leaving 10 minutes between coats, 4 in all. Then by using the clock I cleaned the gun and tidied my tool room up a bit. After 45 minutes I mixed the clear and put a 'dust' coat on followed by 4 more coats at 10 minute intervals. That was 2 hours ago. I have just been out to have a look and the finish is great, lovely depth and high gloss. I thoroughly recommend your channel to anyone wanting a good guide to painting. I have been in the job for nearly 40 years but you taught me something today that I can use in future.
