This video's really helpful because I was planning to buy an SNES. My only issue was that I thought it was impossible to play ROMs on it. SNES games are rare nowadays, thus they aren't cheap. Anyway, thanks for the video mate!

I got this a few weeks ago and I'm loving it! Been playing through the Super Metroid/Link to the Past Randomizer on it lately and I can't get enough of it! Worth the purchase.

I already build an raspberry, but I was very disappointed, it worked so good, and after 1 years, for no reason a lighting mark appears in the corner, but I am using the official electrical adapter, so I think the raspberry wears down, little by little like a normal computer, so now even the snes games has slowdown.
Then I hacked my snes mini, it is nice, been able to put the games I want, but there is a lot of limitations, you can put up to 30 games in each folder, and the more games you put inside the longer it takes to load the game list. When you put new games, it automatically puts 30 games in each folder, but I only put like 200 games and took like 10 mins, maybe if you put like 800 games, probably it will freeze and if you turn off like this, it will probably break.
So I had a super famicom I usually don’t use that much, so I tried buying this Everdrive x5, this blew my mind away. I can see it is a more updated version than the one in the video, I put 200 games in each file, and the snes can read them super fast, you select any of them and in 3 seconds it loads.
I don’t mind don’t having the most expensive version, those games I can just play in the snes mini, like Mario kart, Yoshis island, star fox. Everything else I can just play in the super famicom, and the control is super responsive, even better than the snes mini.
Thank you so much for the video.

I got lost early and have one coming in 3 days! I got lost at firm ware. I'll come back when I'm formatted and ready to give it a real go. Fingers crossed because I'm border line computer illiterate

I think Pilotwings has a DSP chip, but doesn’t have the extra prongs on the bottom. So that might be why it didn’t work. Mario Kart has one too, although there were different types (DSP1, DSP2 etc) so it might be to do with that.

Maybe i missed it but i would have made mention of how to dump your own roms rather than just assume we'd all use ones available online, for those really averse to piracy or just wanna make use their own carts. Otherwise good stuff, I recently got myself a SFC from a convention and a bunch of JPN only games including Fire Emblem 3 and 4, while I could play those in their original language and probably still know what I'm doing something like Shin Megami Tensei I definitely need something like Everdrive to patch the rom into English.

I used to use the SD2SNES with all the chips in, at the time it didn't mean the whole library was available there was still compatibility issues however I recall it was being worked on updating the firmware to get them none running games running. TBH ive switched to emulation for snes but via the snes classic :) Great Video none the less, love me some flash carts

For the money, hard to beat X5 - 95% compatibility. X6 is unobtainable as of now and if you can find its double the cost of the X5, and FX pro is $220+

Informative video, thank you. I have two questions. Do you have any idea why the games on my super everdrive x6 are not in alphabetical order? Also, do you now how to return to main menu mid game? On my N8 pro it’s down and start. I can’t figure it out on super everdrive. Pain in the ass to keep hitting reset. Thank you 🤘🏿

I bought the super everdrive X5 SPECIALLY to be able to run converted nes games on it, because on the powerpak, those nes games will crash earlier on due the limited amount of KB ram, the everdrive does have much more kilobytes of ram, so nes games will run before they crash, and since the everdrive saves everything automatically, i can then repatch those nes roms with those corresponding generated srm files sothat they will now run smoother and no longer crash or crash later on sothat in such case i have to predo the nes conversion by mixing 2 generated srm files from that specefic nes ron, and even better after preconverting those nes roms, they can now also run smooth from beginning to end on the powerpak,
Now the real cool feature from the everdrive(wich the powerpak lacks) is the superkeu feature to allow each region game running on each region system, so now i can use the super everdrive on my supaboy to play both nes & snes roms portible on it while the powerpak is used on my snes for home play, also since the powerpak does not work on my supaboy,
However no matter how interesting the everdrive is, since i already own the powerpak, the wow factor is sadly gone, but still trough.

I really want the fxpack but 200$ is way too much. I settled for the ever drive.

I had this but it died within 1 use.
Ordered a clone last night to see if that holds up better.
