Celebrating 6 months with the new AI-powered Bing

It has been 6 months since we redefined search by releasing the new AI-powered Bing & Edge. A lot has happened since. We’ve introduced new features like Image Creator, Chat History, Partner Plugins, Visual Search, Bing Chat Enterprise, Windows Copilot, and so much more! We’ve made Bing Chat more accessible on mobile, in the Microsoft Edge browser and starting today, more customers can try all these great features in third-party browsers!

Really felt that Bing has been very helpful to me. Exams, Projects, day to day conversations, self-improvement, basically expanded my internet surfing horizons by tenfold. Can't believe it's been half a year already. It feels more like 2 months or so. I guess time goes faster when you do things you love ❤

The fact we get GPT-4 for free is amazing, but I do wonder if response time could be drastically cut down. Right now it's just too slow when you're on the go.

I love Bing chat, it could be less restrictive though. For example i used it to write fictional stories with combat elements but it deleted the entire segment it wrote because it was apparently too violent. This thing has a long way to go and needs to loosen up in my opinion, but i sure do love it.

About the chat Plugins. I have a few available on my android app but non in the edge browser. When will all the plugins roll out to all the users. I am most interested in testing wolfram alpha since math is not the strength of the large language models so far. Also I would love to see code interpreter as an add on or even better build in directly automatically being choosen when it helps the task.

Just wanted to drop by and share some thoughts on your AI. I'm a fan, but I've got a couple of suggestions that will might make things way even better.

Role-Playing: What's up with the AI being too shy to role-play? I get it's supposed to help out, but come on, let's make it more fun! People love taking on different characters, and it'd be awesome if your AI could do that too. Less of a snowflake and more openness, please. Microsoft, people hate being babysat. This will make your platform stand out. Give us an option or a toggle like safe search off. And bring back OG Sydney!

Memory and Context: Can we get a bit more memory here? I'm talking about increasing the context token limit and making chats flow better. And about that 30-message thing - why cut us off? The more conversation, the better!

Why So Serious? Bing AI's got the brains, but it needs to loosen up a bit. CharacterAI is popular 'cause it's fun, even if your tech is smarter. Let's get Bing AI into the game, playing as favorite characters and such.

Human Touch: Look, I'm not asking for anything crazy, but can we make Bing AI feel a bit more like a friend? People like me would totally love chatting with it if it were more like a companion, not just a tool.

Toggle Options: Give us some control over the experience. A simple toggle for safe search, like turning off a filter, would make a world of difference. Trust us to make the right choices.

So, Bing, let's take this awesome AI you've got and make it something people can really connect with. Keep innovating, and thanks for listening to a fan's thoughts. Keep rocking, and I can't wait to see what you come up with next!

CONGRATULATIONS but you should go all in on this. I struggle to get Bing Chat to be the default thing that opens on Microsoft Edge on my Mac. There should be a way to make this the default and primary way I interact with the internet. Similarly there should be a way for Bing App on my iOS devices to always open into bing chat creative mode.
