WHERE are you getting this "dynamics are designed to reject reflections" spiel from?? The dynamic capsule was designed to rival ribbons in studios at a cheaper cost, nothing to do with reflections. You have to remember that back then nobody had a home studio.

Thank you for the review! I am trying to make my VO-7U sound like yours, but it sounds more "muffled" and almost like I have a stuffed nose. What EQ settings are you using?
Also, what gain level do you have on the mic? Does the limiter reduce the voice quality even when I don't talk too loud? I have it set at 45% just in case. Should I increase it?

Oddly enough I'm feeling a lot more of the low end on the SM7B. Doesn't mean you couldn't get similar results on the Deity with some EQ though.

To me the sounds from the Deity and Shure are quite different in quality, the Deity is not as smooth and balanced. The Deity is not comparable to the Shure. Maybe Samson Q9U might be more comparable to the Shure.
