All we really want is attractive artificial girlfriends or boyfriends who will love us and do whatever we tell them to do, or even learn to anticipate what we want without giving us a hard time what we want. But instead, we keep getting these little Napoleon robots who want to take over the world.
Phillip K. Dock was a friend of my family. I met him once as a small child. He helped build a sandbox for me. He wrote a lot about robots. For example, in one book, a guy started a company that makes robots, and then makes one of Abraham Lincoln that is so smart that it ends up helping him to run his company.
I think he would find all this very amusing. But then, he had a dark sense of humor.

Interesting. As for tech taking over jobs and the like? Isn't that the point? So people can get waited on hand and foot? There was a S/F story that I once read in the late 60s? 'The Age of the Pussyfooters.' I don't recall the author. Anyway, that story, adding another decade or two, sounds remarkably like that story. True enough, I don't know for certain what the next 20 years might bring, so it's a projection.
