Does size really matter? Sim Racing screen size tested.

It's possible that this was all an excuse to see what racing on the tiny screen was like.

Good video, but a more interesting comparison would be a more realistic 27" 32" 40" comparison.

Went VR 2 years ago and just can't go back to the pancake view. Sitting 'in' the car and looking through the corner, it just get any better. That being said, VR does have its pain points. But I feel it is worth it.

I want to see the 7 inch triple monitor setup now.

Interesting take. Would like to hear the same for an ultrawide vs triples

I’ve never felt such an immersive experience until upgrading to a 65” 4K OLED. Took a few days to get used to it, but once I did, I never want to go back to small monitors. Everything in my periphery just melts away and I’m one with the game world. LG C1 gaming is phenomenal.

Except many don't set correct FOV, and then size & distance of monitor together default and/or whatever fov settings user might have changed "by hunch" may have chance to get closer or further from right one, often totally distorting user's evaluation of certain display devices they change their past setups to.

You need triple 7 inch displays and mount them to your head so if you lean forward and back your FOV won't change 😁. That would be the ultimate tiny screen setup. Lol enjoyed this video.

There might be a market for a Simagra pill for sim racers with small screens.

I get the idea, but I feel like the realistic comparison people would make is much less extreme - a range of monitors from 24-43" are all semi practical for a pc rig and in reality you would almost always set them up just behind your wheel deck if at all possible. Controlling for the same FOV kinda kills the argument for different screen sizes but that's a real consideration for most drivers

I loved driving on my projector, had it set up as a 126" white wall, with me sitting in the middle of the room/screen about 2 meters away.. it was only a 1080P, but my guests certainly got sucked into the game by lap 2 usually... only if i opened the door to the left that the people would realise they were in a game. Now with the obutto, i find that the screenstand does make me feel immersed, just not as quickly as the big screen. Nice video!

Hahaha that tiny 7" screen right in front of your nose looks so silly! I love it.

Triple screens that give you the entire field of view for a real cars actual size.
You get that sense of what's around you, you get a better view of your speed and other land marks.for breaking points.

Aside from the vr stereoscopic view in vr we are pretty much doing what he’s doing with the 7inch monitor. 2 screens inches or millimeters from your eyeballs.

Still vr is the most immersive and accurate experience IMO.

I use one 50 inch tv just above my legs, I don’t think it’s perfect, but it’s comfortable for sure

I used a 29" ultrawide for a long time, and I rather enjoyed that monitor. I then upgraded to a curved 34" ultrawide, and I was expecting there to be huge change and to really be able to see. It ended up being basically the same, just slightly bigger.

I want to try out a 55" TV now, but I don't have a monitor stand big enough to hold my TV close to my cockpit. In fact, I have been just pushing my cockpit to the edge of my desk and using my normal monitor that way.

medium feels 'more immersive' because the cockpit/dash is approx where it is IRL

Larger display has less eye fatigue. The screen can be placed farther away for easier focus.

Ideal is 27" triples at arms length. i.e. 50-60cm. 60 degree side screens, giving 180 degree viewing angle, 60 per screen.

That teensy screen gave me Micheal from the US Office vibes “Sometimes I stand and watch this thing for hours…”
