I worked at a local resturant opened 28 years. They gave us 4 days notice they were closing. Of 15 ppl only 4 applied for unemployment. Plus its a college town, despite having skilled workers, its very difficult to get a min wage job

My hubs (an active-duty Army guy of 37 years) just ended a 10-day vacation yesterday and we didn't go anywhere other than the Amish bulk store. We inventoried (a much-needed update) and rotated our food, dry goods, pet supplies/feeds (we're already supplementing them with rabbits that we are again raising), medical items, and more. I was shocked at how much we had and some things we didn't. While he was deployed in Italy for the past 3 years (not a PCS move), I allowed myself between $1500.00 & $2K per month on nothing but preps. Since his return, I knocked it down to $1K per month, but we just blew a lot on serious preps that we've neglected. So, today, I've spent all of my time implementing these purchases. It's never too late to prepare for whatever may come down the road at full tilt.
