the analogous of the rope doesn't satisfies me. the rope transfer momentum because it transfer a force throughout a lot of particles (with mass) until that force reach that box. light doesn't transfer any force directly thoughout any medium.

no clear answer to the first sentence "does light have momentum?". yet the title say it has momentum. but you only explain that momentum can be generated with interactions with light. not that light have or haven't momentum itself.

Did not answer: "Why does light have momentum?". Why does it? Yes, it can transfer that momentum, but that doesn't answer why.
