Calaway Park - So Many Parks 98

Показать описание
Calaway Park is a small park in Calgary that not many coaster enthusiasts get to, mostly due to its isolated location and small ride line-up. Which is understandable, but also a shame because this is actually a really nice park, and what they do have is excellent! Their signature roller coaster The Vortex is easily the best of the Arrow Corkscrew models, and the Timber Falls Log Flume is a hidden gem. Couple that with some very nice landscaping and friendly staff, then this little Canadian park has to be one of the most overlooked in North America.

This is So Many Parks, So Little Time; a series where I document the many amusement parks I stop by this summer. Join me for some fun times, some great people, and of course the coasters. New videos every Tuesday.

I get emotional watching this theme park growing up here spending time with my sister and mom. Its a fantastic place for kids and adults can have some fun as well. A lot of it used to take after the flintstones.

Thank you for the walk through and I'm so glad you enjoyed the park. I grew up going there every summer and found this video to see it nowadays since I'll take my kids there next summer for the first time from the states. I know this video is from last year but as you can tell from your day at Calaway, not much has changed in 30+ years. That's what makes it a classic. =)

Like the walk through. It's nice to see what other parks have and what they look like.

Great overview of the park! That's a shame the chaos was in pieces, but I'm glad the flume was a pleasant surprise.

Hi, I’m here in 2024 at the beginning of the video you see your bored, kinda elephant looking thing that’s gone from Calaway Park now if you go on the drop on Timberhills, you will see the elephant in the when you look behind you in the far Field

They do have a heigh ordinance enforced. There's an airfield nearby, and they don't want to cause problems for aircraft

That Mini Express is the exact same model they have here in PA at Fun Fore All. A shameless credit to have, but I can confirm: those laterals are legit in the back row!

Sidebar: I actually paused on your credit list only to realize it was part of the SBF-knockoff gag (my apologies that your arch-nemesis has spawned its own spinoff series)

The Vortex was renovated in the off season (between 2020 and 2021.) I'm not sure about all the specifics but it at least got a new paint job. Height might be limited because of the Springbank Airport that is situated directly across the highway to the north. The bumper cars are trash because you aren't allowed to bump anyone. They want you to drive in a clockwise circle instead. Timber Falls is great but its actually slightly smaller then the old 80s era log flume it replaced. That log flume followed the same two drop setup but had an extended rapids section after the small drop and the walls of the track were a more realistic wood build instead of concrete.
