I grew up in that area in the 1960s, 70s. It was clean and orderly. This was before Malls and supermarkets. All those storefronts had shops, bakeries and small businesses. Feel horrible for families stuck in that area. How do you explain the depravity of the people hanging out in the streets to young children?

It seems that the average American citizen cares more about drug addiction than the politicians do.

We are witnessing the collapse of society! We are also
becoming desensitized to seeing drug addicted people
laying on our streets like rotting corpses . Once beautiful
cities turning into trash neglected garbage dumps? along
with crime and violent behavior. Unless this is drug flow
and usage is controlled we all will eventually suffer the
consequences and horrifying reality that stems from
a living nightmare.

It looks like they made people living on the sidewalks and standing around high asf move. And millions of trash picked up. I feel so bad for the people living there walking their kids past all of that. Philly has beautiful artwork on side of buildings and they can throw a block party. Back in the day you would get pulled over for being in a known drug area. I lived in NJ and I moved to a street off of Roosevelt Blvd. Called Everette St. Being a herion addict since 1994 that didn't work living so close to it. I know the struggle 😩 😪 it's nothing fun.
