Be careful when buying a used phone. They can end up financed or blacklisted months later

Buying used phones is getting more dangerous. Carriers are making it next to impossible to find out if the phone is financed or leased. people are buying phones even on reputable platforms and finding out months later that they are blacklisted or being reported lost or stolen. I've had this happen on swappa and eBay.

I had bought a used phone off eBay and it was fine for a year, then it just got blacklisted and now I’m screwed pretty much.
