I think my favourite book on this list has to be Man of Steel. Amazing work by John Byrne and you’re right, he put Superman back on the map! Great video Dante!

I actually didn't expect the number 1, but now that I think of it, I think you're right. Awesome video D!

Have some of them on collected editions. BTW great countdown. Some people also said the Legion of Superheroes by Keith Giffen and Paul Levitz is second to the New Teen Titans in popularity.

Watchmen and DKR were not meant to be collected in one volume. that barely happened before those books. Why else would have Alan Moore made the keep it in print clause in his contract. he had no expectation that it would be. especially in its current form. Also DKR has many printings. it most definitely was meant to be a comic, not just prestige or collected.

Comics were in a perfect groove in the 1980s

#1 deserves its spot not only because of its love of comics, but it's parody and iconography for the 80s-til today!

I feel like most of the comic books made in the 1980’s are some of the best!

I was one who voted 👎 on Robin. I just prefer Batman as a solo character much better. Doing his detective work and kicking ass.

Here's a few of mine, Dante:
Swamp Thing #21 (can't believe you left this out!) In which Swampy finds out he is not Alec Holland, and never was, and he wasn't happy. Closely followed by #29, the first issue to not feature the CCA. Who needs them?
Daredevil #191 - Miller's swansong, and his art here is beautifully inked by Terry Austin
Fantastic Four #276 - Great story by Byrne, and the art is a standout. Normally Byrne inked himself, but here is helped out by the great Jerry Ordway, who sadly didn't last long on FF.
Miracleman #13 - A really gruesome, violent issue (Alan Moore doesn't hold back, here). Miracleman finally sorts out that little shit, Kid Miracleman.
Uncanny X-Men #165 - #175. Paul Smith's unsurpassed run on The X-Men (I think the Byrne/Austin ones in the 70's were better). Simple and gorgeous, plus there's a fill-in drawn by Walt Simonson in #171.
Ronin - I totally dug this Frank Miller series. You always had to wait a while for the next issue to come out, but it was worth it. It gets by on pure aesthetics.
Justice League (1987)- A lot of people didn't like this irreverent take on the stuffy old League, but I had never read it until #1 of this volume came out. Just when Frank Miller made The Dark Knight scary again, Giffen/DeMatteis/Maguire and Austin made me laugh my bum off at him being made fun of by Guy Gardner. Some may say it was too dialogue-heavy, but it was too hilarious to ignore, and this new Kevin Maguire art was a stand-out.
ANYTHING featuring Ambush Bug. Issues of Action Comics, or his own Mini-Series and one-shots were always worth a read, completely taking the piss out of the entire comics industry. We'll never see it's like again, unfortunately. :(

Hopefully you are still reading the comments on your video. Do libraries in the USA stock graphic novels on their shelves?.

I highly disagree with X-factor place on the list. Early X-factor by Bob Layton was mired by character assassination in order to make a shoddy premise work. It robbed Cyclops of his happy ending and natural character arc and undid what was a very pivotal death in X-men history. Later X-factor by Lousie Simonson was great largely because she was trying to undo the damage of those early issues.

Jeez, didn't anyone here read Alan Moore's Miracleman? Mike Baron's Nexus? Chaykin's American Flagg? Surely, not just Marvel and DC?!?
