For the liquid metal, you can just put some in a small glass container, then use the "ear buds" provided to mix it and it will become like a paint, which you then can apply much much easier.
For the thermal pads, you can just use a tiny, and I mean TINY thermal paste dot in the 4 corners of the CPU, to hold the thermal pad in place. Also the thermal pads get better the longer they remain in place, this means that you will get higher temps initially, but after a while, they will go down. A but like priming.

As far as the paste itself goes the corsair paste osnt that good but the stencil design for the thermal paste they use is very nice. Those 3m stencils are very nice tools, so nice i decided to make a small little thin card like template that i can connect to the cooler mount to use to apply the paste. Almost every acrylic test i did to see how it spreads especially with nice pastes like Noctua or kryonaut it spreads so perfectly that there is no air and a thin layer that just perfectly completes thermal transfer very well. On some of my twsts just that grid pattern alone lowered temps by up to 3c!

Thanks for the breakdown and testing. I found it very useful!!!

Personally in my opinion i would say the arctic mx-6 is the best thermal paste, But if you like overclocking, Then go for the thermal grizzly because it is alot colder.

Friendly tip put the liquid metal to the q-tip rather than directly to the cpu for obvious reasons!

14:50 The fact you used the word "misnomer" to describe an error is the best kind of irony.

Awesome look at different pastes! I use KP and for cost-to-performance MX-4 or MX-6 :)

you prob put way too much with the corsair without using the included applicator, it's meant to help limit how much you put on and give you a consistent spread. I would retest it again if were you.

Carbonaut is the old stuff. You should have tested the KryoSheet.

Noctua and Corsair thermal paste? I'm confused why isn't Arctic MX-anything or Gelid GC Extreme in this test? Again really? People use Noctua paste? I don't use Arctic but I know a lot of people do, I personally prefer GC Extreme. I've used Kryonaut but I don't like it as much as I don't think it stands up as long over time as GC Extreme does. I'd rather not have to drain and refill my loop every 6 months just because of thermal paste.

I bought a Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut, so I screwed up? I'm betting on 7500f with a se 224 xts cooler

So many missing that I have to ask, “Why?” Where is MX6 and all the rest?

Arctic:
"Can our CPU coolers be used with liquid metal?
Our CPU coolers should never be used with liquid metal (such as Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut), as they can cause strong oxidation when they come into contact with aluminum and copper. The base plate can be damaged to the point of material failure."

I tried XTM70 on my PS3 and got notifications of overheating. And for $25? You’d expect it to be better. I got MX4 after wasting $25 on it and never got the overheating notification again.
