For those wondering, joker was probably scared from him getting beat, arrested twice, beaten and drugged and interrogated by her sister, then after the interrogation nearly murdered, for a 16 y/o kid that'd leave you with some serious PTSD, and the games only like 60% done

Damn, I feel bad for Akira. He got his life shattered to pieces by Shido, he got drugged, beaten, plus the times where he was on the brink of death. And that kind of pressure put on to a 16 year old.

The most painful part is it gives off the feeling that she is the first one to actually see how badly Joker is hurting

Joker really goes through a lot. I remember seeing a fan art of him in his bed at Leblanc, covered in bruises and bandages, and I think it was Ryuji, Ann, and Yusuke in the room, and it was captioned something like "now let us take care of you/now it's our turn to take care of you."

The game gives you snippets of how Joker handles his trauma by showing you he blocked details from his memory, but man, I wish they went more in depth. And he's just a kid! Imagine if the scene this comic portrayed happened. The night after you come back, you're all shaken up and you hear Sojiro from downstairs say, "You've got a visitor! I'm going home, take it easy tonight." And it's whatever girl you romanced (I guess if you romanced multiple, it will have a non-voiced dialogue accompanied by '???: Thank you' and you select "That voice sounds like... (girls' name.))

So your girlfriend shows up because she was afraid of what happened to you and wanted to comfort and console you. Basically another special scene in addition to Christmas, Valentine's, and White Day. Idk maybe I'm just rambling but the game glosses over a lot of things that could have more depth. Love it to death though

Little do many of the people watching this know that this fanart wasn't actually inspired by the interrogation Akira goes through in the game. It's easy to get confused though. It was made to depict an emotional scene in an AU fanfiction story called "Cop and Robber."


Akira and Morgana are the only Phantom Thieves and have been performing changes of heart for nearly a decade since his second year ofhigh school. Makoto and the rest of the gang went on about their lives normally, and she became a police officer. The story mainly focuses on their various interactions and the tension associated between their positions, since it'd be the end of their operations if she ever found out his identity. "Cop, " "Robber, " get it?


I won't spoil the details of what's causing Akira so much turmoil and why she's comforting him with the line "I will never hurt you." Just know that it's part of the central conflict, and their is incredible significance that goes on to the end of the story. Btw, this isn't supposed to be tragic, but the story itself is emotional as hell.


Give it a read. I promise, even if you don't think much of the Shumako pairing, but still like stories, this one is absolutely worth it. It's not purely romance either, not overly sappy, so you will have other things to latch onto as well. One of the best P5 stories I have ever read.

I always imagine in my head that Joker is a MASSIVE Makoto simp, but this... this actually fits a lot more with his life and struggles. This kid got his entire life thrown away because he couldn't look away from someone in trouble. For the entire year after that he had to deal with murderers, corrupt cops, rapists, sadists, greedy assholes... even when he wasn't personally threatened (Okumura's palace) someone close to him was. Betrayed, beaten and put in almost constant pain... sure, he trusts Makoto at this point, but the reflex to pull away would still be there, especially if this is immediately after the police station.

Tbh with all the Trauma Joker had to endure during P5 and P5R it makes sense that he would probably have panic attacks and feel unsafe I mean getting Arrested for assault when he was protecting someone, being treated like an outcast for the time period between then and start of P5, getting arrested again for being framed as a murderer, being interrogated by your friends older sister and dealing with 2 God like figures who do stuff I mean one literally wiped the whole Phantom Thieves from existence essentially killing Joker and the other was warping reality messing with Jokers emotions just to make him try to accept the reality he was living in before I mean he had to watch a rival/friend of his die basically twice cause of that.
