Here is my 5 month review of the LG Gram Pro 17" with Intel Arc Graphics and 32GB of ram from a gamer's perspective on a laptop that is pretty much built NOT for gaming yet that is what I use it mostly for. I specifically didn't want a discrete GPU because I felt the LG engineers were too lazy to even put a 40 series gpu in and still stuck with the old 30 series. Also, I already have a Lenovo Legion Pro with a 3070. I was more interested in trying out Arc for the first time too. But local gaming performance wasn't what I really cared about anyways. This laptop was all about moonlight usage.

I really appreciate your long-term review of the LG Gram Pro 17". Your thoroughness and commitment to your aesthetic vision are admirable, and I hope they will take you far here on YouTube!

I'm on the hunt for a new work laptop, and the LG Gram Pro (16" rather than 17") is on my shortlist due to it's rare combination of traits that line up well with my use case: 1) the light weight - I'm often on the move with my laptop while at work 2) the screen size - I don't want to go back down to a 14" or smaller display given I'm working in spreadsheets and on slide decks all the time 3) battery life + performance - I'm mainly working via cloud-based apps and also Zooming frequently. The LG Gram line really is a bit of a unicorn as you mentioned.

I'm wondering if you think it's worth both the wait and the extra cost to go with a 2025 Lunar Lake LG Gram Pro 16 over a 2024 model. I'm guessing it'll cost at least $400-$500 more upon release, maybe more. My main consideration is whether the battery life will be substantially increased due to the new chipset. What do you think? How much more battery life do you think we should expect and will it be worth the additional cost?

The other two laptops I'm considering are the newly announced Thinkpad X9 15" (really leaning this way despite it being slightly heavier than the LG Gram) and the Macbook Air 15" (waiting on M4, but it's even heavier, I don't love the keyboard as much as the Thinkpad, and dislike the lack of USB-A/HDMI ports).
