I love how you take us through so much of the cycle of your plants in one video. I really appreciate the time and effort that takes. I've been gardening a really long time, but I always learn something new and unexpected from you. THANK you. 💖

Once a year, when I get fresh wood chips delivered int he autumn, I rake up my paths and put the composted wood chips onto the beds and put new chips on the paths. Love making soil without having to compost it. I have limited space for compost so the soil making paths are invaluable for mulch to protect the beds over winter. Then they are ready for new plants in the spring. Parsley grown with tomatoes makes the plants truly darker green and lush but we found less fruit so feed with home made comfrey liquid. Tagetes are a good companion for tomatoes too.

Magnificent garden! I have to confess that yours are the only videos that I find myself watching twice...once to absorb the overwhelming visual beauty and a second to contemplate your unique and informative dialogue.

Hi Siloe, I just wanted to mention if you wanted to bend the conduit smoothly you can fill the tubing full of sand and then bend, if you don't want it to bend and kink. Also that type of mechanical joint conduit is called EMT, it doesn't meet code for industrial electrical here, the code approved conduit is a bit thicker and the ends are threaded and all the joints are threaded so the total run of conduit can be water tight. So some viewers may be thinking one or the other type of conduit the threaded end type doesn't bend as easy. But use what you have available the tomatoes won't care but you get better product if you tie them up so the fruit doesn't touch the ground.

ever consider just woodchipping your entire front lawn? I got three dumptruck loads for free from chipdrop and its been breaking down and feeding the soil for the last year, and has kept all weeds suppressed too.

Love your videos! They are so informative and I love your wacky tomato structure. You have inspired me, so I have already started to collect branches and sticks for a more natural look! 💕

I use epsom salt on my tomato plants at planting time. I feel that it helps the plants.

LOVE the higgledy-piggledy rickety structures! have them in my garden too. I make do with whatever I can find, symmetric or not. In fact, I like the natural forms instead. Wish I could find nice thick tree limbs like yours. I can only find rods. But that will do.

Very good video Siloe'! Thanks for making it and sharing it with us. I really like your conduit trellis and am inspired to make one for my back yard for my tomatoes and other vines such as sweet peas. It's still a bit cold here in Indian Head to plant my garden but we're getting there!!
I have my seeds ready and am itching to get out there to plant my garden. Wish me luck! Also, I use straw for mulch because I like the fact that it breaks down into compost and I also use wood chips. I have gotten several large truck loads for free from the SMECO tree trimmers. I have given the drivers a few dollars and Cokes and sandwiches to thank them for the mulch and at the same time SMECO ( and arborists ) don't have to pay for dumping the chips. It's a win / win for everyone.
