The usage of the ' in her name definitely makes me think of naru, A'del, Xe'ra, xal`atath. Also "XAL" in some languages has meanings such as "deposition, dethronement, divestment, divesture" but also in russian languages the name XAL has a meaning like "The opposite of silver" and others link it to "Crystal, radiates with energy". The wow devs use of double entendres is legendary so all of these meanings could be rolled into one. Cant find much on "atath" though in terms of language or real world cognates.

I was glad to hear about these “Archons” as the Naaru always felt closer to old gods than void lords. I wonder if there will be any connection to Bastion/Kyrestia or that’s just a coincidence

I really miss watching you talk this stuff out on your streams. I fell behind leveling and didn't want to be spoiled, but now that I'm finally starting Azj'kahet I should be able to watch again soon. What I'm looking forward to the most is watching you go through Hallowfall and seeing what you thought of things there. Considering how they clearly state that she isnt an old god would be kinda silly to revert that expectation so thats out of the question for now at least. Naaru seems very likely but theres something about locus walkers connection with her that points to her being at least present in karesh and possibly ”kareshi” ethereal herself. ”Nexus Queen Xal’atath” for example.

First there was nothing, then there was light. Naaru might not be the default form, what we refer to as dark naaru could be the original form.

It would be cool if Xalatath used to be a prime dark naaru and then all the dark naaru were converted to the light, save for Xal.

Makes sense with what she says about naaru having lost the true path and eventually reurning to their masters (when they turn void).

Alleria calling her a survivor from the depths of time implies that there was a culling, and that she is unchanged; if the's a naaru, the original state of her kind is void-aligned.

My guess, Xal'Atath will either be a fallen light god on its void phase or a fragment of a void lord that tried to manifest into reality but got changed sufficiently that it got tied to reality.

Hot take: Xal will have spent too much time on Azeroth, which ends up bestowing free will onto her in Midnight.

An interesting theory I have about the old gods after the disc quests…if titan creation were being “corrupted” by close proximity to Azeroth aka free will. The Thregar are said to be protecting azorth is that not possible what she’s done with the old gods since they’ve been so close to her and that’s why they diverged off the void lords plan??!!?

I think you’re right about Elune and her connection to potentially the void. Looking at the Cosmology chart, if you draw a straight line from the center of reality, connecting with the white lady and draw that line straight to the edge, the white lady sits atop of decay, and pushing further away from reality, it sits right in between shadow and Death. That perhaps Elune is actually a death goddess. Also, you didn’t mention anything about the blue child, but it sits over earth, the titans, the arcane and order. Which if they put these moons on the cosmology map, their placement is not by accident. The blue child is the wondering moon after all, or an observer… or the master control over all of azeroths titan structure. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Either way the blue child imo is titan related and the white lady imo aligns with decay, death and shadow.
