poea has no right to withhold medical professional to work in another countries.thats unconstitutional.this is a wake up call for the government to give imoortance to the medical field in terms of career and benefits.

Desperate times, desperate needs. Salute to health care workers who sacrifice for their country, truly they are heroes not only in the Philippines but all over the world.

For sure, like the other agencies of this admin who made sweeping orders, POEA will back track and make exemptions after realizing their stupidity in making decisions without studying its implications and consequences. They mean well, most definitely, however they're quite mentally impaired.

There was a huge surplus of nurses and nursing graduates across the country during the early 2010's and it was upsetting how the healthcare system, both public and private, took advantage of these young and vulnerable people desperate to start a career in the nursing field. I honestly felt that the government at that time wasn't helping enough; you even had to either have the money or connections just to work as a "volunteer". If you're lucky enough, you'll either get paid under or at the minimum wage. You'd deal with a lot of rejection not because you're unfit for the job, but because you don't have money or influence. On most occasions, they would neither confirm if you're hired or not and instead, have you "wait for the final results" which ran for several months. To put it bluntly, we were used as pawns by a corrupt system. I finally gave up and resorted to working as a customer service representative. It was a hard pill to swallow at first but I had a family to feed so who cares? Fast forward, 10 years later when most of the nurses have either finally flown abroad or found a different career path with far better opportunities, our own country has been facing a shortage of healthcare workers in the recent years. Well, this is the karma we knew was coming. To our rotten healthcare system: this is the karma you deserve. This is the karma that you've put upon yourselves but unfortunately, it's not the oligarchs nor the people up there who suffer...it's still at the expense of our fellow countrymen.

May contract sila let them go
Kung gusto niyong ban yong new recruitment
Kahit di niyo sila pina alis, you can’t force them to work

Haha.

Hnd naten sila masisi if gusto umalis. Sana its about time na bigyan sila ng nararapat or higit pa sa dapat nila makuha kasi hnd biro ang work nila.

that's why Sen. Joel Villanueva said that the government should study the impact of its decision to ban the deployment of health workers to other countries during the COVID-19 pandemic.

To poea..

Maybe if you paid nurses, doctors and other medical professionals what they deserve, they wouldn't think to leave?
