Interchangeable Aquaclear Filter Impellers

Probably many already know this, but I couldn't find it on YouTube. If you want the media capacity of an Aquaclear 70 power filter with lower flow rate, simply put in a smaller impeller.

I had an old Tetra Whisper 30 and I wanted to use it on a 10 gallon tank. Way too much power so I cut each impeller blade at a 45 deg angle. Works perfect, well balanced and can easily prime itself.

I use the 30 impeller in a Aqua clear 70, and have no priming issues. Its in a 20g high with platies, works great.

I lifted the bottom part up a little and put an AC70 impeller and an AC20. It was crazy!

Hello, I write from Spain. Sorry but my English is not very good. To have more filter volume, could you install the rotor of an Aqua Clear 30 in the Aqua Clear 50 pump and thus lower the current of filtered water by increasing the capacity of the filter material? Should I exchange the complete pump, that is, put the complete pump from 30 to 50. Would it work well with less flow? Greetings from Spain.

Hello again. One last question: Would an AquaClear 50 work normally with the Aquaclear 20 rotor? Or is it necessary to put the rotor of the previous model? Examples: -The 70 with the 50 rotor. -The 50 with the 30 rotor. The 30 with the 20 rotor. Thanks again.
