I wasn't keen but a couple of my knife making buddies changed my mind. Before I could just about deal with using antler as spacers but now I like a well chosen piece as a whole handle

I love the look and feel of antler, but for a tool handle, I really have to have it in hand to say I like it or not. The wonderful and unique irregularities that are part of what makes antler so appealing can be the very thing that can feel off in the hand, or the most amazing, perfect handle ever. Yes, you can sand or file it to suit, but that can take a lot away from the antler's character, vs wood, which just continues to expose similar grain and pattern. I guess I'll just have to find out where you are when I cross The Big Pond and head over for the Download 2023 festival and let my hand find the right one out of your selection at the time. Cheers Ben and Lois, thanks for making such great tools. I've enjoyed putting the ones I already have of yours to work, and these look like they would be fantastic additions 👍. S.L. 🇨🇦👍

I love thr way you make your knifes. I seen others make some and they cut the hors all the way thru. I can't see how that's safe

Wow, you have an awesome life.

You make others happy with what you do in life.

I will check out how to buy a knife from you.

I'm new to knives and I want to learn to carve knives.

In my comment can you tell me the least expensive way to buy a knife from you. I live in San Diego and my grandniece lives in Montana.

Who is you distributor in the USA?

I want to get her into carving to. She's 8.

Be blessed,

Leo 🦁

Love it!
Waiting on my antlers now from back home....my question is about the durability of just using epoxy to hold it on the tang...is it just two part epoxy or something better?
Thanks and awesome craftsmanship

Great to see you back, beautiful knives as always.
Regarding its pet toy uses - It is absolutely horrendous as a dog chew - it’s really bad for their teeth, way too hard and frequently results in tooth fracture. Nobody should buy because it simply is a welfare issue for their dog.

I live in the Texas country, more deer walking through town than cats and dogs here . I go out and find my own here.

I liked and subscribed, nice content and well presented! May I ask you, when you milled the slot in the antler with the drill press were you using a drill bit or a milling tool? I drill but the antler but have little luck moving sideways creating a slot without the bit wanting to bend. I am concerned about bit breakage. Thank you! And again, very nice content!

What do you put on the antler handles for maintenance? I bought the marttiini appa and it has reindeer antler in the handle but i heard oils can stain it, i have beeswax or ballistol oil. Either of them ok for antler maintenance?
