I disagree with you on the image quality (as demonstrated in the video) as I feel the saturation (if stock) of the Akaso was better. That's just my personal preference
As I'm not too bothered by stabilisation the only real difference I can see between the cameras is the menu. Clearly the GoPro wins that one but does it win it enough to justify the price difference?
Not for me. I can get used to a menu really quickly :)

that gopro looked like shite compared to the akaso. the colours are all washed out and blah, whereas the akaso had much, much better colour saturation. it wasn't even close.

Hey bro I really appreciate the Review it’s extremely helpful thank you for that.
But I have to say your side-by-side picture comparison conclusion was mind-boggling to me how could you say that the goPro had the better picture ?
it was so fuzzy compared to the Akaso especially at the park you were filming the gushing water the Akaso was crystal clear while the go Pro was a fuzzy mess it literally looked like you’re filming through a fog !
I agree with everything else you said especially stabilization but the picture quality is of the Akaso is worlds apart from the go pro.

The Brave five DOES NOT have electronic image stabilization. It has an "anti-shake" feature which, unfortunately, is not EIS. The image quality is simply better with the Akaso.

The anti shake in the photo menu is image stabilization for taking photos say while moving for example. There should be a another option in the menu video stabilization.

I agree with you on a lot of points, but the video quality. I realize that what we are seeing on youtube is not the original quality of the raw footage you are seeing, but the white balance was way off on the gopro. Too much red hue. Can I give you a helpful hint. When doing side by side comparison, you need to do a still video test too. It is impossible to really compare quality of moving video. Yes, it is an action cam, but for the sake of pixel peeping for video sharpness and clarity, setting the cameras side by side shooting a still setting give us the viewer a much better chance to judge them for quality.

I have a cheapo polaroid action cam, the old one that's cigar shaped. fully waterproof on it's own, and it's been awesome. I strap it to a pole and run it under my boat while boating/fishing. never, ever had any issues with it. it doesn't have sound, but I don't care, I use it for fishing.

hey there, if you are to decide between Akaso Brave 5 and Akaso V50Pro, which would be better and why? I have placed on the list Campark x20 and Apeman A80 as well, but it seems for $20 difference they are way worse, yes or no? Thanks :D
