I pray that our Heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of freedom. - Abraham Lincoln

When i took my Dad to West Point, we heard them play and sing this song, it was only the second time i saw tears coming his face really crying . I asked him why the tears, he told me it brings back memories of his friends and comrades he lost in both Korea and Viet Nam

"They shall not grow old, as we who are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them."

My dad was a Korean War Veteran. He passed away this past February. This song was played at his funeral. Not a dry eye was to be found.

To my platoon Sgt. Ron Sager, I miss you daily. We thought we were invincible. On day in May in Cambodia we both learned we were wrong. You left us, and I carry the burden daily. I miss you old friend. May God watch over you. Your platoon Leader, Tom Henderson. 3rd Plt, “D” Company, 1/5, 1st Cav.
