Note that you don't need the path deform modifier, partly a habit and partly it provides others control I wanted at the time but the Array Modifier allows for arraying along a spline as well.

Absolutely insane, witchcraft I tell you. I still remember doing chains the hard way, individual links placed by hand back when I was in school. I swear the retopology tool and this would have saved me HOURS.

Spline overlap is a thing? Geez ... I've been manually doing this all these years. Always something new to learn with Max.

is there something similar to spline overlap in cinema 4d ? I see somebody using the step effector but that just curves the hole spline while pushing those knots out

Thank you for the great tutorial! I recently upgraded from 3DS Max 2016 to 2023. I'm a little overwhelmed by all the new features since my last upgrade. How are you getting the search dialog box to pop up?
