Amazing throw to nail Carroll. Give him his props when he earns them. Fact is other than a few brilliant moments Elly is not that good. To this point he is a slightly above average player for sure. Hitting .245/OB%.300/OPS.741/1.1 WAR=Big Deal, nothing special with the exception of a few individual plays of great athleticism. Not the best overall player on his team to this point. Small sample size but been a dime a dozen who started like him and then the league caught up to them and they slowed down. We will see, but other than great athleticism not sure how good he really is. I would venture to say that Carroll's future is brighter individually than De La Cruz. We shall see.

I promise you : The Reds are having the best season they will have for the next 10 years. I am truly sorry to say that, ,, but, ,, I watched them win the World Series in 1990 at the age of 23.. It took the reds over 45 years to get back to Championship form After Pete Rose and The Big Red Machine did it in 1976 ( I think ) or 74' was it ? Anyway, , YOU WILL BE DANG LUCKY to see them in a Championship game again anytime soon... It truly is a curse that the Reds have had such terrible owners in my 55 yrs.. Minus a few of my early years.. I TRULY consider myself lucky to have been around to remember and witness a World Champion Reds team ( 1990 ) But no doubt, ,, It is possible that the Reds could have won upwards of 2 Championships by now. But greedy owners have traded away EVERY great prospect we have had in the past years.. js
