From Software grabbed the mass market appeal with Elden Ring, but performance issues remain in all their titles. Fresh after the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, they released Patch 1.12.3 which attempts to address some of the issues across console and PC a like. We put that to the test with PS5 database rebuilds, Ray Tracing on and off, PC, Steam Deck, and Xbox Series X|S all put through the IGN Performance review lens. Is this the patch to rule them all?

Im assuming they get a pass for horrible technical performance time and time again because their games are great

Did the patch put a hard mode? I'm tired of fisting malenia level 1 no armor no ashes while just crouching and no dodges or jump attacks, with no help and the screen brightness turned all the way down while playing form the top floor of my apartment with a blind fold on and the TV off

So... have they fixed the FPS drop from the final boss' light attack yet?

test this in the dlc around areas like Castle Ensis and Rauh ruins, the effects quality from low to medium has a 13 fps difference its insane, played the entire base game at 60fps other than heavy boss particle effect drops on a rx6600 ryzen 5600x. DLC areas are so bad.

Looks like RT mode performs worse on PS5 with latest patch.

They should make a unlocked edition where you can modify any weapon, slots for different builds that you can switch between any time and a boss rush mode where you fight them all back to back. Just the bosses.

Still running on the pre-nerfed V1.12 DLC
Also, this engine is nearly as old as the one Bethesda uses in Starfield. Except Bethesda wants Cyberpunk2077 levels of fidelity. lol

Frame rate dips all the time. Dont listen to the casuals with their 10 year old tv.

How do you recommend ray tracing on for a 4050 at 1440p, lol, is this a joke?

ray tracing off is the best setting you can apply in this game

They never fixed the performance from the base game, what makes people think they will for the DLC? Also, every game they have released has had performance issues. They can’t release stable games.

The only game that was stable was the Demons Souls remake and because a different studio made it 😂

the adventure it self is the best reward.. so this performance improvement placebo is the generous reward for our arduous technical adventure from Mr Miyazaki..

Thank you kindly Miyazaki
