Just started to work in an Irish pub here in the states and didn’t want to look like a nube. I appreciate the assistance!

I'm an American trucker, living in New Mexico (a state just due west of Texas) I love whiskey, drink mostly bourbon, but I really like Scotch too. I'm a descendant of the Ulster people (I have a Scottish Mc name. I shed a tear when I hear "Amazing Grace" on the bagpipes and emboldened when I hear "Scotland the Brave" on the bagpipes. That stuff is still in me I guess 200 plus years later)These Ulster folks brought their whiskey making skills with them to Appalachia which is present day Tennessee, Kentucky, the Carolinas, West Virginia. That's where they invented bourbon in Kentucky. I really think my taste for whiskey is genetic. When I buy scotch I buy mostly Dewars or Johnny Walker. It's the most affordable, around $20 or so. I'll buy Glenlivet around Christmas time when the price drops to around $30 bucks. But anyway, thank you so much for this video. I've been butchering these Scotch names for years.

Thank You very much for this very well done and friendly video!! For a long time this has been such a sensitive topic for me, a female bar tender in Germany, who has been mansplained about this so many times by wanna-be whiskey experts, and so often they don't believe me about the *actual* pronounciation that I learned as a professional, when I answer them. This video is always the one I recommend to watch. If they wanna be al experts on it, let them be told how it's done by a Scot.

I keep coming back to watch this video sporadically and throughout my whisky journey as I come across new distilleries. Thanks for making it.

5:30 Actually, when I visited Ledaig this summer they told me they emphasize the first syllable ("LED-chig"). Maybe it changes over the years, respectively whom you talk to?

Also, a different whisky channel´s commenter suggests the "s" in Glenfarclas is silent: "Glenfarcluh". Can you confirm?

7:48 Also: "Good morning, we-are-a distillery?" ^^

Going to Scotland in two weeks to tour distilleries. This is a life-saver, thank you! (But can you lower the volume of the music? A bit distracting as I have the sound up to hear nuances in the pronunciations).

4:06 "you can add the extra syllable or LEAVE IT as *Edrado-ur*" hahaha, love it!

I like this fellas videos. He's not pretentious in any way. He's just an educated lover of scotch whiskey, ( Irish spelling). Subscribed!

Just found this video, and I'm glad I did. I know that I will need to watch it several times in order to get all the pronunciations down. I sent this link on to my cigar and single malt crew, I know that they will enjoy it as much as I did. Big thanks!

I have heard it mentioned that the workers at Bunnahabhain would have you run it together more like ... Bu'navan.

Absolutely brilliant, cheery Roy! I didn't know how badly I needed this till I heard it. Now I won't be asking for a Tea Bag! And Ledaig = Lecheg, who'd have thought it?
