Morning sickness lifesavers⤵️

I get it. The nausea/morning sickess is easily my LEAST favorite part of pregnancy.

It usually peaks in the 1st trimester between weeks 6-16 due to pregnancy’s hormonal changes🤢

Here are 5 WAYS to feel nausea relief quickly:

1. Small Sips of Ice Cold Water. Good hydration is important when struggling to keep food down. Sipping cold water throughout the day can provide therapeutic relief for the body & brain to help combat nausea.

2. Peppermint/Ginger. These flavors are popular to help soothe an upset stomach & aid in digestion. I preferred the flavor of peppermint gum, but ginger candy is known to help as well.

3. Small, Balanced Meals. Think a mix of carbs, protein, & healthy fats here. Going too long between meals can actually make nausea worse, so try eating smaller, balanced meals throughout the day to help your body stay nourished.

4. Try Unisom (*active ingredient: doxylamine succinate). Okay, this one was a freakin’ #lifesaver for me! I know medication won’t be the first choice for everyone, but even a half tablet of unisom (daily or as needed) relieved my nausea within 10-15 minutes. *Always check w/ your doctor first before trying a new medication.

5. Get Some Fresh Air. There’s a reason they say nature is our best medicine. Stepping outside can help remove sickening indoor odors as well as help you focus on something other than the nausea you feel.

& DON’T FORGET TO REST, mama! Here is your permission to rest & relax your body/mind in this fleeting season of motherhood. I know it’s hard when there are a million other things to do, but you deserve time to take care of yourself & your growing baby.

After all, it’s not every day that you grow a human from scratch😉

With Unisom being a sleep aid, are you able to take it during the day time too? My nausea is an all day thing right now, and I’m thinking I need to try this out. It is getting more and more difficult to do daily tasks and to even go to work.
