Magic Bullets vs. Promiscuous Plants

Why is the pharmaceutical industry moving away from designing specific target drugs?

My nutritional strategy is to eat from as many plant families each day as possible.  Tea from 5 plant families, sourdough with 18 plant families making it more of a seed cake than bread, with bitter almonds and an avocado makes 25+ plant families just for breakfast.  We know there is synergistic toxicity from mixing drugs, so it follows that there must be synergistic nutrition from mixing plants.

I love turmeric and use it every day along with coconut oil and fresh black pepper.  Is that good?

Darn it Dr. Gregor!  I sprained my ankle yesterday and I have a lot of turmeric in my cupboard which I should have been using.  Oh well it is a nasty sprain but since I eat such a healthy plant based diet now I can't believe how fast it is healing.   I have had a few sprains in the past which took days and weeks to heal, but I'm already walking around pretty good this time around.

Strictly speaking the correct term would be "magic shot charges" (or similar) instead of magic "shot guns"... but it's still an apropos witticism. It tickled ME.

Is it just me or am I detecting a tone of disappointment when you refer to drug companies not patenting the natural world.
