Griffith did a couple things wrong, but Femto is not Griffith, he is him without emotions. Even when talking to the godhand he still wasn't sure, they convinced him to choose to sacrifice, and the choice becomes much easier when you don't have to look them in the eye or kill them yourself. So I think maybe griffith would regret what he did had he kept his personality.
