At the start of the pandemic I got a job at the local supermarket. My family had pressured me into accepting the job even though financially I was okay without it. Night shift. 1am start. Every night. This was a scary time. Nobody knew what was going to happen. It was like someone had let the world spin a little too far off it’s axis. New feelings. I would walk the 15 minutes to work every morning. Almost every day, this piece accompanied on my walk to work through the suburbs in the cold pitch darkness of early spring. One night I saw a fox stood near the road. I got fairly close and we both stood very still. I could see every hair on him. 2 seconds later and he was gone, into the bushes and away. I wont ever forget that, or those days of pretty miserable night work (don’t accept a night job unless you understand it will ruin your life). I haven’t seen a fox in that area since. I would get to work early, way way before everyone else. I would sit in the staff area with this piece, Terry Riley’s In C, or Steve Reich’s Six Marimbas on in my headphones. I don’t miss those days, but I am grateful for the memories I have of it. Thanks for everything Brian. You haven’t done bad for a non-musician.

In the evening my mum drove me to my guitar teacher. I played this song on my earpods while looking out of the car window watching the busy city life. It harmonized so well with the people walking around the noise of traffic and the shinny streetlights. A very wonderful moment...

I listened to this beautiful album just after my dog was killed by a taxi driver, I was so sad, I didn't know what to do, I couldn't sleep, it was a really bad time. This music gave the relief I needed but it took me like 3 or 4 years to be able to listen to this beautiful music once again. I'm grateful to Brian Eno to make music like this to heal your mind from awful moments like the one I had experienced that night.

Whenever I fly on an airplane I listen to Brian Eno. Perfect for calming my nerves. I especially like Ambient Music For Airports for it's ever cycling melody.
