I got my GLE yesterday and now learning the quirks and features of this new vehicle. For now, all I can say is that the interior and exterior plus design queues show that it is a real elegant beauty. I got the 450 6 cylinder engine with all wheel drive to make sure that there was enough forward power to spare. So far no regrets. Thanks for your enumeration of features which comes as a jumping board for me to learn more in detail about how each feature works in this incredible piece of machinery.

To even compare to the BMW X5, it would need to be the 450 engine on the GLE. I drove both, thinking I would get the gle 450 and surprisingly I loved the BMW X5 better. The 2024 has the larger screen now. The seats in X5 look more upscale and are more comfortable. BMW feels more solid and transmission is flawless. The interior was quieter in the BMW X5. BMW offers 3 years free service, which I appreciate since my Jaguar x pace had the same. I ended up ordering an X5 with the m package that blacks out everything and 22 inch black wheels. So happy with it! One of the things I didn’t like about Mercedes interior was the row of air vents under the screen...it’s what you notice first-just an ugly row of air vents. In the BMW you don’t even see the air vents...they are hidden and minimalistic...very modern and chic looking.

Solid review as always. A friend bought the GLE 350 and 10 weeks later traded it back for the GLE 450. He said at around 65 mph the car would rock like a boat & I heard the same complaint from a fellow U tuber. Did you notice or have heard anything similar ?

Good review thanks for doing this. MB very smart to include Both a Touch Screen and a Touch Pad. Other than the exquisite Interior ambient lighting and the nice real wood accents, and judging from what other posters have said elsewhere > unimpressive operation with the 350. Forcing the upgrade to a 4WD 450 with all the Goodies - pushing over $85-90K in typical MB fashion. I have Not test drove this SUV, so I'm just echoing what some others have said. And what is not discussed is current MB quality and Servicing Costs !!. Other than the Touch Screen /Touch Pad option, I am content with my 22 Acura MDX Advance. In 19 months of ownership, not a problem!. When I leased mine in August 2021, the Type S was not out yet. But the 2023 MDX Type S Advance with Acura's 3.0 Turbo delivers more HP & torque than the GLE 350, is fully loaded for $72K. Other than the InfoT. system, it is a little annoying that I learned my 22 does ONT have the Automatic Dampening system, yet it included in the MDX in Canada?? And in all but the bSe model of The RDX. The new TYPE S has it too. That was a chinzy move. All in all, I truly like my MDX (the MPGs are little disappointing - with the same ratings as the GLE 350. I'm sure the 450 is much worse).

Had one of these as a rental for a week, the 4cyl is fine but the trans is the worst ever. SLOW shifts, slow to take off from a stop, foot half down count to 2 and it takes Paddles are worthless. I could click down twice on the paddles and count up to 4 Mississippi before it did anything, that isn't an exaggeration, I literally didn't think I clicked hard enough until a few seconds latter when it abruptly decided oh ok you wanted to down shift earlier. Loved it outside of that, best headlights I've ever experienced.

My new gle amg63s had a little bumper damage during delivery so they are fixing it and giving me a base 350 to drive while I wait. What a POS. Tons of plastic, uncomfortable vinyl seats, zero power, etc. "Inspiring" is not a word I would use in describing this car. Unless you just have to have a Mercedes I'd pass on this thing.

The X5 looks better, handles better, is screwed together better and the BMW Inline 6 with the best transmission ever made (ZF) is absolutely in another league and I’ve had BMW and Mercedes vehicles since the late 80’s. I love both companies but BMW is just better IMO.

I bought one yesterday. Hate it. Vinyl seats I didn’t know were not leather—off-gassing fumes are toxic. Soooo much dumb tech. Drivers seat is not comfortable at all. No load leveling with towing. Outlet for hitch is hidden under the car so plan to get on your back on the ground to plug in. No heat and cool on second row. So disappointed. Lexus 460 GX premium is superior in every way. It has been trouble free and I’m sick about this decision. X7 felt and drove beautifully too, this GLE350 is a real disappointment.

Can't remember where I saw it but it was voted one of the least reliable cars on sale in the USA. Lease European, buy Japanese....🤣
