On episode LXI of "In the Know," (November 1, 2024) ARK CEO/CIO, Cathie Wood is joined by ARK's Chief Futurist Brett Winton to discuss the market implications of the upcoming election as well as exciting opportunities in the genomics space. Cathie also breaks down the jobs report, among other economic data.

This month we’re again responding to a few requests by supplementing this episode with charts and data to help illustrate ARK’s perspective on and outlook for the global economy.

As always, Cathie discusses fiscal policy, monetary policy, market signals, economic indicators, and innovation. We hope you find this monthly series useful, especially during periods of heightened volatility. Stay Healthy. Stay Innovative.

Stock market is at an all time high and Ark’s funds are at an all time low. Now you can keep telling yourself how smart you are.

Sharing this power episode in my weekly notes! Love how Brett explains curing a disease can actually be good business!

I don't think investing in innovation is a bad thing, it's just that ARK does not seem to know when to buy or sell.
All innovation focused funds have outperformed ARK funds AND at cheaper expense ratios! QQQ, VUG, SCHG, SOXQ, ... list goes on.
Given the ARK funds are concentrated in a few holdings, I see no reason for their pricey expense ratios.
ARK fund outflows make sense to me.

Winton and Wood, I believe TelaDoc, Ginkgo, and maybe others, need a look by forensic accountant. What's the cure for continual losses? NTLA down to 15 from 100, TelaDoc down to 9 from 250. These are nothing like Nvidia, Meta, or Palantir.

Why did these funds lose value for shareholders even during a generally bullish market? Did the fund manager disrupt the investor's hard earned money? Please explain to us that you have a system to keep track and ensure the small stocks you pick will make money first. All the brainstorming sessions are useless if you guys don't have a practical system to be profitable from the investment.

Market sentiment could not be lower for biotech.1. Companies trading close to cash balances 2. Much reduced discussions for biotech on social media compared to the last run up (just look at the dropping number of views on ITK with Cathy) 3. Unforgiving market reaction to any suboptimal news. Also the technicals are indicating ARKG might have bottomed and been in a range for a long time. Can't imagine it going lower.

Finally convinced me to pull out my money from ARKK. What a mistake I made, but now happy to break away from the cult.

Feel like ArK teams more as academic pros who have smart research yet still lack of real world practice to navigate their picks thru the challenging markets

This particular ARK video was quite disturbing. I can’t even begin to list all the issues with it. Let’s just say I think the name ARK should have been a warning signal all along. Faith, unfounded hope, and assumption are all deeply related concepts.

Everything you said is based on Trump being reelected as president. Would you please explain how things will be different If Kamala Harris and Tim Walz are elected as president and vice president. The polls show a very close race. Harris and Walz have a completely different approach to government and based on the limited amount of information we’ve received it seems like it will be a dramatically different approach than what Trump has been saying he’s going to do.

How the heck do I get the job title of chief futurist? I am not joking.

If I had invested my money in scratch-off lottery tickets in 2020, I'd probably be better off than with ARK. Luckily the 5 year investment horizon will finally be reached next year, so ARK must go 10x, surely.

Opinion: You should add "Employment Friday " to your headline because that is what people regularly look forward to.

I just sold ARKK (at a loss of course) and have made more money in a high yield savings account in 1 month than with them in 3 years, ARK ETFs are pure 💩 their research is good though.

Good to know. I still feel this is not a mass market product like tsla or robot or anything else. Simple example, can a company create a drug to change grey hair back to color or grow hair who lost hairs. Thats kind of mass market.
