Eagle and Glider kites in Monterey

Glenn and Cherie meet Wing and Sohming Lee from Singapore for a day of kiting and sharing experiences. Mr. Lee is a master flier of the panying style glider kite (pterodactyl in Chinese). The glider is a minimalist kite with impressive flight characteristics when controlled by a panying stick and wheel. Mr. Lee was especially delighted with the ability to fly his glider above treetop level, something that I take for granted, but he does not.

Later after our excursion on the beach, we dined at the Monterey wharf which Cherie and I appreciated.

Perhaps in time there will be other fliers who wish to try the diffucult but rewarding activity of flying panying kites.

Looked like Christmas came early with new friends and kites. What a lovely day to share your skills at a beautiful location. Some great video filming by Cherie ! All concluded with a perfect meal.

They should get paid to fly these all day at airports. The ones that look like eagles that is.
