With Elvin. You were really hanging in there. Not many younger women know who Elvin was. I was fortunate enough to see him live
In the Vanguard with his jazz machine unit.
I judge groups by the quality of the drummers.
In 1963 I was in college and had the opportunity to hear the Jazz Messengers live.
Freddie Hubbard had replaced Lee Morgan and
Wayne Shorter had just joined the group. Blakey was mesmerizing. You are on the verge
Of greatness. Let’s hope this younger generation gets a grip on American Classical music, No one plays it with our intensity.
