I work at a restaurant. I'm a manager now, but there are still 2 higher managers than me. My general manager once said, "this is a business, not a charity" when at the end of the night I let one of our servers who is experiencing homelessness after leaving an abusive relationship take food that would just get thrown away any way. Cooked fried chicken, baked potatoes, baked breads, ect. He was not even aware of her problems. He learned that day from me. I stood my ground, and she ate well and saved money and is about to get her own place at 35 years old. Do what's right. Always. Treat others how you want to be treated.
