Juneteenth 2021

Celebrate and recognize the importance of Juneteenth in our community with us this Friday (6/19) at 10am! Mayor Jane Castor, Councilman Orlando Gudes, and members of the Tampa Bay Juneteenth Coalition will raise the Juneteenth flag over Old City Hall.

Usually, there has to be a great event which proceeds a holiday, such as independence day, but the emancipation proclamation is the great event. Finding out about it really doesn't qualify as a great event.

How can celebrations go on 🚫 when the slave trade has continued and is still currently a monster business for countries and groups worldwide?? It is everywhere.

I'm really not happy, black folks in Tampa are living in an economic depression! But we have been in an economic depression for 400 years, unless we do drops or play for the Bucs!
