How to Make a Caesar Salad from Scratch!

Et tu, anchovy? Welcome to my Caesar Salad. Warning: this Caesar’s not for the timid or the faint of heart! We’re talking cloves and cloves of garlic, whole schools of anchovies, dollops of Dijon, bursts of lemon, invigorating hits of hot sauce and Worcestershire, and bucketfuls of Parmesan. But we don’t stop there. This Caesar, inspired by the one at Blair’s in Silver Lake (in Los Angeles) also has crispy, salty, homemade breadcrumbs and a trio of lettuces – radicchio, endive, and arugula – which mirror the Italian flag, even though this salad was invented in Mexico. Actually, they mirror the Mexican flag too! But after making this, the only thing you’ll want to salute is your fork as you dive into what may very well be the best Caesar of your life.

The thing I usually hate about Caesar salads are the big, fat, hard chunks of crouton. Definitely going to try this with breadcrumbs. I think that will be the game changer for me. I love the cuts to all the film clips. The most entertaining cooking video by far. Looking forward to more episodes.
