As with the brand’s recent line of “Plus” models, the T1 ST Plus is a refreshed version of the original T1 ST city e-bike. This model features an adjustable stem, allowing it to fit a wider range of riders. It is Bluetooth compatible with the Velotric App, and it has three riding modes with different power levels.

The bike features a 350W rear hub motor with a torque sensor, which pairs nicely with the bike’s lightweight frame and general style. The T1 ST Plus felt natural and nimble with a responsive, analog-like feel.

Unlike most city e-bikes, the T1 ST Plus was remarkably comfortable to ride. The bike’s adjustable stem allows for customization over the riding position, but the bike’s saddle and ergonomic grips also feel great.

Finally, the bike’s range was among the best we’ve seen from the city e-bike category. Velotric advertises up to 70 miles, and we beat that!

I have owned this ebike for about 2 weeks and I am much happier with the amount of exercise I am getting compared to my last ebike. Its fairly comfortable, much lighter than my last ebike and plenty powerful if you are not doing crazy long hills.

Glad you guys covered this bike. Not many real world testers out there putting this bike through its paces.

Special request, I know it’s cheap but the concord 27.5 from Walmart really punches above its weight. Would love to get your opinion and see these tests performed on it.

Velotric has changed the frame sizes for the T1ST and T1ST Plus models, which was disappointing since I own both. The T1ST comes in Small and Medium, while the T1ST Plus offers Regular and Large sizes. However, the Plus's Regular feels more like a Medium/Small, and the Large seems like a Large/Medium.

One major upgrade on the Plus is the rear wheel, which has 36 spokes compared to the 28 spokes on the original T1ST. As a 250-pound rider, I broke four spokes in the first month of using the original, so I’m having the rear wheel rebuilt with stainless steel alpine spokes for added durability.

In terms of performance, I got about 36 miles on the original in Echo 5 mode with an average speed of 16 mph. On the Plus, I have to use Trail 3 mode to match the Echo 5 performance, and I’m seeing around 40 miles with an average speed of 16.6 mph. I also purchased the Velotric Range Extender battery, but it doesn't extend the range as expected. Instead, I often have to turn off the bike to allow the Range Extender to recharge the main battery while I pedal. I typically activate it at the start of my ride and once the main battery runs low, I turn off the bike to let the Range Extender do its thing, then switch it back on periodically until either the ride is done or the Range Extender is depleted.

Additionally, the Plus model features 170mm crankarms, while the original has 165mm. With my 29-inch inseam, I need 165mm or 160mm crankarms, so I had to buy third-party options since Velotric doesn’t sell them. Overall, I prefer the Plus model, but the original was simpler to use.

You didn’t seem to mention that if you are in Eco mode and you wanna go to the next mode just say boost you have to stop the bike and then put it in boost. It doesn’t do it while you ride, which is ridiculous. I called the company and they said you could do it while your ride from your phone from the app, but there would be a delay before it would kick in and it seems more dangerous having to flip through the screens while you’re riding so I asked if a firmware update would fix that and they said probably not it would have to be a display replacement, which I’m sure you would have to pay for so if you’re traveling along in Eco mode and you come up to a big hill, you would have to stop the bike or flip through the app while you’re riding that’s not cool otherwise the bike is great

When are you going to test the T1's number one competitor, Propella's C9 Pro V2?

lots of positives but I can't see how to get the battery out, if your battery needs replacing the bike is "totalled"?

Is the battery removable and replacable?

What does the ST stand for? I assume it means Step Through, but this isn't a step through?

Ride1UP Roadster v3 seems better in every way except maybe battery life, but it’s impossible to know since you don’t normalize range tests by speed.

It's hard to tell that this is an electric bike
